How To Detox Daily

It’s the new moon today and it’s the optimal time for planting new seeds, creating what you desire, becoming in tuned with your body. We take care of our loved ones and friends but simply forget about ourselves. Life can get hectic! I created these energizing tips to help you achieve what you desire and add in some self love to help you succeed in all areas of your life.

1. Start your morning with an immune boost

Waking up to a fresh glass of room temperature water that is filtered / fluoride free, squeezing in half of a lime or lemon with a 1/3 tsp. of sea salt helps nourish your adrenal glands. You might think of stress when you hear about adrenals but that’s not their only function. They also control our sleep wake cycle, regulate your appetite, convert your proteins, fats and carbs into energy. They also aid in balancing blood sugar levels, help with your sex hormones productions like DHEA which helps with your energy, moods and sex drive. So, if you’re adrenals are malnourished, you’ll have a hard time managing your daily activities. Not to mention, it helps with bowel movements so it’s a great way to start your day by feeling lighter!

2. Dry brush to energize

Have you ever dry brushed before? It’s great to add into your morning routine because it increases circulation and energy. Use a long handle brush with natural bristles. Here is the one that I like! It exfoliates the skin removing dead cells, helps with cellulite and supports the body’s lymphatic system. Starting from the bottom of your feet going in circular motions towards your heart, then your palms going up towards your heart. And then getting to your back and abdomen, aiming for 10 strokes for each area to help stimulate the lymphatic system. Keeping the strokes smooth and gentle. I like moisturizing with coconut oil after.

3. Oil pulling to toss out toxins

Coconut oil has lauric acid in it which is anti-microbial, so start your morning with about a teaspoon and ½ of teaspoon for kids, preferably on an empty stomach. Gently swishing it around, pulling it between your teeth. If you feel like swallowing it spit it out and take less and start again. Start with 5 minutes and work it up to 20 minutes to achieve maximum benefits. Oil pulling whitens teeth, heals gums due to its anti- inflammatory benefits as it removes toxins from the mouth. After you’re done, spit it in the trash and not in the sink because the oil can clog up the drains and you don’t want to spit out toxins in the sink. Floss and use a fluoride free toothpaste after.

4. Get in your Chlorella

Getting 5-7 vegetable servings in daily can be hard. Chlorella is a fresh water algae and a super food. It helps us in detoxifying heavy metals that we have in our bodies from the environment, from the fish we eat, even from mercury filings we have/ had in our mouth! It strengthens your immune system, helps regulate your hormones and metabolism. It has Vitamin A, B vitamins, Iron, Magnesium and Zinc.

5. Be aware of environmental toxins

In our daily routines we use makeup, perfumes, plastic compounds and breathe in environmental toxins. These toxins can increase estrogen levels in our bodies to harmful levels. Carrying more body fat under your glute area is a sign of excess estrogen which leads to PMS, irregular spotting, cramps and it can lead to infertility. The Skin Deep Database is an extremely useful site where you can find out the safety of many products. Once you know which products are potentially harmful, you can make better choices for your hormonal health!

6. Add in some colour

Turmeric has countless healing properties from reducing inflammation from your skin, chronic inflammation like arthritis, kills fungus and yeast type infections, helps heal depression without the side effects of Prozac and aid in brain health just to name a few off the top of my head. You can add Turmeric in your soups, curries, teas and smoothies which is my personal favorite and also take it in capsule form.

7. Enjoy the king of herbs Ganoderma Lucidum

For over 2000 years  Ganoderma Lucidum also known as Reishi mushroom has been used in chinese medicine and was named “medicine of kings”. It has anti-cancer, anti- aging, anti- viral, reduces inflammation, balancing the body’s PH balance, organ detoxifying and immune boosting properties. I personally love getting my daily dose from my coffee and teas. Also, after coconut oil pulling each am brushing my teeth with ganoderma infused toothpaste.

8. Additional help

I personally using natural supplements to help detoxify my body. The nutrient levels in our soil have reduced since the 1900’s. Plus not having the ability to absorb your food is another concern. Adding in supplements to aid in liver cleansing is beneficial. It’s like having insurance on your health.

These are some of the brands I recommended:

Designs for Health Detox 14-Day Kit. Benefits will be: improved weight loss, increased energy and vitality, clearer thinking, improved mood and much more!

Estro Control by ATP Labs 1-2 capsules daily for 3 weeks. To balance estrogen, boost energy, enhance sexual life, lose weight and maximize performance.

Hepatik Defence by ATP Labs read instructions on bottle. To help balance estrogen, detoxify the body, help generate liver cells and reduce cholesterol.

Probiotic 1 a day for 4 weeks. Helps maintain a healthy digestive health and boost your immune system.

Fiber to help eliminate toxins and aid in digestive health.

Applying castor oil on abdomen will help with improving circulation of the uterus and ovaries, removing toxins from the liver and can aid in softening scars from surgeries like C- sections. Using it 1-2 times a week for 20-30 minutes each time. Keeping it a week before your period if you have a heavy flow, because it can lead to more blood circulation.

Turmeric has countless healing properties from reducing inflammation from your skin, chronic inflammation like arthritis, kills fungus and yeast type infections, helps heal depression without the side effects of Prozac and aid in brain health just to name a few off the top of my head.
